Event Overview
The demands of the academic milieu reach far beyond the practice of clinical medicine. Academic physicians assume responsibility for educating the physicians and specialists needed for sustainability of the healthcare system, all while working hard to fulfil their own clinical and scholarly goals. As COVID has underscored, complexities and uncertainties within healthcare challenge the academic setting as being simultaneously a place of learning and a place of work. Coaching as an antidote can function as a partnership to foster resilience, navigate relationships, and support the achievement of personal and professional goals. Coaching within the health professions has picked up "traction" in recent years and yet a lack of clarity as to what it is, the role it can play and how it can be effectively integrated still exists. This 60-minute presentation aims to bring that clarity.
