Every CME Director and CME team member struggles with the decision to stay with their individual accrediting bodies, such as ACCME, ACPE, and/or ANCC and work collaboratively with other Schools (e.g., Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Psychology, Social Work) or to seek out additional accreditations. Joint Accreditation for IPCE: Soul-Searching, Decisions and Actions! will provide thought-provoking points for those interested in Joint Accreditation at every stage of the decision-making process. Three medical school providers will each share their individual team’s journeys. First, the Soul-searching phase from University of California, San Francisco, second the phase of waiting to hear from Boston University, and third, the perspective from Stanford University Center for CME, flow of the intervention or models in use. This is a panel discussion and interactive session with 3 seasoned CME/CPD leaders on challenges and opportunities in the process of seeking Joint Accreditation for IPCE, facilitated by SACME program committee member Diana Durham, PhD. Learners will utilize a provided worksheet to write down their “Ah-ha/Eureka” moments and list two or three actions they will take home. These might include inventorying current activities or exploring what other schools/units are doing, partnering to reduce redundancies, connecting with health system officials, and/or attending an informational webinar. This workshop is designed for anyone at all levels interested in learning more about, or embarking, on the journey to Joint Accreditation.
