Discussion

The world we live and work in is getting increasingly unpredictable during the time of the COVID-19 global pandemic. As CPD leaders, professionals, faculty and planners we find ourselves working to problem solve how to best support our staff, institutional missions and our faculty and learners. The current situation raises a number of important questions to consider:

What are the best and available technology solutions for alternative program delivery?
How can we reach our learners in different environments, and adjust to quickly changing educational needs?
How do we handle cancelled national and international events (do we reschedule for a later time, attempt delivery in another fashion, etc), and how do we deal with financial implications?
How do we maintain our own health and wellbeing as well as those of our families, colleagues, learners, faculty, and patients during this very challenging time?
What are some of the lessons from similar crises that can apply?

This special free session of the SACME’s Virtual Journal Club is organized to help our larger CME/CPD community to connect and learn with and from each other. We will share and discuss examples of issues we face and exchange experiences and resources available within our community and broader healthcare and societal context. Please join us and be prepared to contribute to the dialogue.
