Active Learning in CME Questionnaire

Thank you in advance for participating in our study. The purpose of this questionnaire is to follow-up on the results from the 2018 AAMC-SACME Harrison Survey and to investigate the knowledge and attitudes about active learning in Continuing Medical Education (CME). This is a 20-question Active Learning in CME Questionnaire and we estimate that it will take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Because you are a SACME member, you have been identified as a CME leader and are uniquely positioned to comment on this issue and provide feedback. The information compiled from the survey will continue to advance the field of CME using evidence-based learning practices (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26115113.doi:10.1002/chp.21290). The questionnaire will be used to identify your current knowledge, attitudes and usage of Active Learning strategies, as well as barriers to such usage. In addition, identification of potential strategies to address those barriers will be included in the survey.

The research study has been approved by the IRBs at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Colorado.

Your responses will be kept confidential and are anonymous; your name and email address are not linked to your answers.

While your input is essential and relevant, your participation is entirely voluntary. By completing the survey, you are giving consent to the researcher to use of your responses for the research study. You may end your participation at any time. Your academic status, grades, or employment will not be affected by your decision to participate in this study. Record of participation cannot be linked to either your academic or your employment record.

You will not be compensated for your time to complete the survey. However, there is a benefit to you as a SACME member by participating. Not only will you further your life-long learning skills about active learning strategies but depending upon the response rate and results of this questionnaire, the findings are being considered for a presentation at the next 2020 SACME meeting.
